Reading: Psalm 130:1-2
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
2 Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
Thought for Reflection:
If a child hurts themselves at Toddlers or is worried about something, the first thing they will do is cry and hold out their arms looking for their parent. At some point we stop doing that and instead seek to survive using our own resources – that is part of growing up. As Christians, however, we will always be God’s children, and so when trouble comes it is only right that we should call out to him, rather than seeking to cope on our own.
Prayer:
Thank you Father that you hear us when we call out to you. Help us never to lose our child-like dependence on you.
