Reading: Psalm 130:5-6
5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
6 I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Thought for Reflection:
The night before a long awaited event is often spent in eager anticipation – Christmas Eve, the day before a concert or date or special occasion such as a wedding or party. Much work is done in preparation and nervous energy in waiting. If we are that excited by these things, how much more so should we be excited about meeting with God?
Prayer:
Lord, like a child waiting for Christmas day, fill us with eager anticipation at meeting you today.
