Reading: 1 Samuel 7:10-13 NIV
[10] While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the Lord thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before them…………. [12] Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” [13] So the Philistines were subdued and they stopped invading Israel’s territory. Throughout Samuel’s lifetime, the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines.
Thought for Reflection: As we come to the end of the year lets look back and give thanks that God has brought us thus far! The journey has been uncomfortable for some, filled with all sorts of things but God has a plan and has brought us to this place. Let’s set up a marker and say here today, God has led us. That gives us courage and hope for what lies ahead!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for this opportunity to look to you and acknowledge your hand on my life thus far and I trust the future into your care.
