James 5:7-8 NIV
[7] Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. [8] You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.
Patience means not losing heart as well as not getting irritable! It would be a sad thing for a farmer to forget that he had planted his crops and go off on holiday only to find that he had missed the time for harvesting! Jesus said he would come back and he left us plenty of things to be getting on with – sharing his love and his word and the good news of the gospel. Keep going – we don’t know when he may come!
Quietly He came as a helpless baby
One day in power He will come again
Swift through the skies He will burst with splendour
On the earth to reign
Jesus, I bow at Your manger lowly
Now in my life let Your will be done
Live in my flesh by Your Spirit holy
Till Your kingdom comes
