Ephesians 1:18-19 (24.01.18)

Ephesians 1:18-19
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

There is a saying that the eyes are a window to the soul. If we walk daily in God’s presence, we are given the gift of hope, a promise of the riches of heaven and all the power of the kingdom of heaven to do great work in the here and now for God. And the presence of God will be seen to shine in us. People will see it in our eyes. In The Faerie Queen, Edmund Spenser wrote: “As the great eye of heaven shined bright, and made a sunshine in the shady place; Did ever mortal eye behold such heavenly grace.” Will people see God’s grace in us?

Lord God I pray that in praise and adoration of you I will hold you close and by your grace I will be used by you to make sunshine in some shady place today.
