Acts 9:17-19 (08.06.18)

Acts 9:17-19 NIV
17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

This is a pivotal moment in the history of the church, the entry of Saul into the family of the church. This amazing act of grace on God’s part and courage of Ananias in praying for him. Through this, Saul/Paul turned from being chief persecutor to missionary extraordinaire, through whom the Gospel went out from Israel to the ends of the world.

Thank you Father for those who have gone before us, including Paul, opening the way for us to come into your family. In your grace, may we have the faith and courage to open the way for others to follow.
