Luke 2:48-50 NIV
48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
The third question of this story, ‘Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?’
Can you hear the urgency in what Jesus asked. The force of ‘had to be’.
I wonder what it felt like for Joseph to hear this?
Who is Jesus’ Father?
Who is our Father? And where can we find him?
Do we have to be with him?
Father, you may not have a Temple of stone to dwell in today, instead a Temple of flesh in which dwells your Spirit – me.
Open me to your Presence. I long to be with you.
