Psalm 63:2-5
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 I will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
Many Christians keep a journal, a record of their spiritual journey. It can be done in a notebook, an online diary, an app or even in the margins of a Bible as you read through it. It’s a really helpful habit, which gets you in the practise of reflecting on what God is doing in your life. This has all sorts of benefits, two in particular spring to mind. Firstly it helps you to be open to what God is doing, even in the mundane day to day life. Secondly, when times are tough, as the Psalmist discovered here (did he have a journal, or was he just looking back and remembering?) the recollection that God has been at work in your life and that he is good and loving and true, can be a great encouragement.
Father help me to be remember how you have been at work in my life that I might find courage for the future and be stirred to glorify you.
