Psalm 91:1-3 NIV
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
[2] I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
[3] Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
I’ve always enjoyed poking around old castles – my Mum tells of the time I almost gave her a heart attack as a young child running around the open battlements at Framlingham Castle. In troubled days, such castles were the place the local population would run to for cover, trusting in their lord to keep them. If they found protection in their lord, how much more so can we in our Lord!
These are troubled days, Father. We run to you for cover, and pray that we might be sharers of hope to those around us.
