Philippians 2:9-11 NIV
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, [10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Is this a case of everyone being forced to ‘worship’ Jesus at the final judgement? Or is it a response to the dawning realisation that Jesus’ life, his self-giving life and humility, are the acts that prove he is the greatest leader rather than those who force or demand respect or loyalty?
Who is there like You
And who else would give their life for me
Even suffering in my place
And who could repay You
All of creation looks to You
And You provide for all You have made
So I’m lifting up my hands,
Lifting up my voice
Lifting up Your name
And in Your grace I rest
For Your love has come to me
And set me free…
