Peter writes to a scattered and suffering people – to encourage, challenge and build them up. Quite like us today!
1 Peter 1:1 NIV
[1] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
IN these strange days when we cannot physically meet it is good to know that God knows everyone of us and where we are!! Peter, that most down-to-earth apostle, writes this really encouraging letter to “God’s elect, scattered…….” – you might add Hertfordshire to the list of places because he is writing to all believers everywhere and today we may feel a bit “scattered” but God has something to say to us and I pray that he will speak to us through this great letter!
Lord, open my heart to you today so that I might know that you are with us even when meeting with others who love you is difficult.
