Acts 12:7-9 (01.09.20)

Acts 12:7-9 NIV
[7] Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. [8] Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him. [9] Peter followed him out of the prison…

There’s no hesitation from Peter – the angel tells him to do something and he does it straight away. Clearly he would be in trouble if he was caught trying to slip away, but I guess no one’s going to argue with an angel are they! Don’t let this observation take away from his trusting faith though – I know there have been times when I know God’s been telling me to do something and I haven’t.

Father, sorry for those times when I haven’t been quick to be obedient. Help me to be more like Peter.

Ps. Don’t forget to pray for and promote the Alpha Course…
