1 Corinthians 15.1-3
[1] Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. [2] By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
There is nothing so wonderful to us believers as the gospel – the good news of God’s love and mercy. Surely we could never forget what God has done for us! Yet the apostle tells his readers that they needed reminding. We need that just as much as the saints in Corinth did. Like them, we heard it, we received it, we have taken our stand on it, and we are saved by it. Let us do what Paul exhorted the Corinthians, and hold firmly to it!
Father thank you for the good news of Jesus! Help[ us grasp it by your Spirit throughout the coming week.
