Psalm 23:4 NIV
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
As we know all too well from this year, following God does not promise to eradicate all suffering, not in ‘this life’ anyway. But what he does offer is to accompany us in it and through it, and that can give us security and hope even in the darkest of days when there it seems like there’s no end in sight.
Father, we trust in you and place our lives in your hands. Help us to see your presence in all our experiences.
