Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Colossians 1:19-20 (08.04.21)

Easter Continued
Over Holy Week we relived the events of Easter, exploring them using our imagination and senses. Having done so, we’re left with a question, what is their significance?

Colossians 1:19-20 NIV
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, [20] and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

So far we’ve thought about how Jesus intercedes for us and brings us forgiveness. In Colossians, Paul reveals the purpose of this forgiveness, to restore our relationship with God, and not just us, but the whole of creation in a cosmic act of reconciliation! The cross is all about relationship, community and harmony.

Prayerfully lift your relationships to God, with him, with others, with creation, give thanks for them and pray for his reconciliation where they are damaged.
