Easter Continued
Over Holy Week we relived the events of Easter, exploring them using our imagination and senses. Having done so, we’re left with a question, what is their significance?
John 16:6-7
6 Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. 7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
Jesus’ death and resurrection have so many ongoing ramifications – he can continue to pray for and love us, through faith in him we can be set free from slavery to sin, and the whole of creation is being reconciled to God. For us we can enter an even deeper relationship with God as because of Christ’s death and resurrection, we can now be given the Spirit to dwell in us, guide us and work in and through us.
Thank you Father for the gift of your Spirit through Jesus’ passion, help us embrace him and what he is doing in our lives!
