Matthew 16:24
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
As a church we’re setting aside Fridays for the next period to pray for God’s vision and guidance for the way forward as we leave lockdown. When and how do we move from virtual services to physical services? Do we continue with a online aspect and become a ‘hybrid’ church? Do we simply return to what we used to do, or has God got something new, something different in store for us? What does it mean to take up our cross and follow Jesus in a post-lockdown age? The challenge of following rather than being told the route means we may have to live with uncertainty and to live with faith. We may not know all the answers as we embark on this journey, so we’d better make sure we’re looking to the one who leads us.
Jesus, help us to find and follow you in the days ahead.
