Romans 8:34
34 …Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Jesus is praying for us right now! Is this what it means when we pray in his name – does he take our prayers to his Father, endorsing them and seeking his Father’s favour?
We already know that God the Father loves and approves of Jesus and his actions. We saw that in his baptism – ‘you are my Son with whom I am well pleased’ – and we saw it in his Easter Sunday resurrection when God vindicated his life, words and actions by raising him to new life This means his prayers ‘have weight’ before God.
And if God responds to Jesus’ prayers on our behalf, then we can expect a response that makes a difference, The Father wields resurrection power after all!
What would you like Jesus to ask his Father on our behalf. Pray in his name, faith and hope.
