Proverbs 29:20
20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste?
There is more hope for a fool than for them.
Ephesians 4:29
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
The third quality Dzifa outlined on Sunday was thinking before we speak as our words have consequences. I’m sure we can all think of times when we have said something we later regretted, I know I have! But word’s needn’t be destructive, they can be used for great good as well, showing concern, love, encouragement, forgiveness, hope, wisdom and much, much more! Let’s try and take that extra effort today to use our words to build up and not knock down.
Spirit, help me to harness the power of language for love.
