Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Some of us are talkative, masters of conversation and find speaking at length easy and natural. This is not me. I am by nature quiet and tend to listen to others’ conversation. This makes today’s verse somewhat challenging, just like my conversation, my prayers tend towards the short and silent rather than long and far ranging. How on earth could I pray in all occasions?! Thankfully, I don’t think Paul means that we should be yakking out loud to God continually, rather this is more a continually being aware of him and open to him through the Spirit, living in a constant communion, including at times prayers with words, but not necessarily or always. Bring those you meet, are with, and hear about into this, expressed in words sometimes, but in attitude and outlook always.
Father, help me to be aware of you all today, and to bring others and their needs into this as they cross my path.
