Hebrews 12:22-24
But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
Now at the end of another week we look forward to the finish line of the race run with perseverance described in verse 1. Having lived and grown in faith and love of God through all the hardships of life with our eyes fixed on Jesus, God’s promise is that we, members of the church of the firstborn will come into our reward, into the joyful assembly of angels and the holy ones, the saints, our name written in heaven and righteous before God. And our reward will be for eternity in the presence of Almighty God.
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return
And come with singing unto Zion,
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head.
