John 20:28-29 NIV
[28] Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” [29] Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Thomas had been through the trauma of seeing his Lord and Master die on a cross; his hopes had been dashed and he had become cynical and hardened so he would only believe what he could see and touch. But how wonderfully Jesus restores him and what a transformation as he worships – not just his friend but his Lord and God.
Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free
