Colossians 3:12-14 (NIVUK)
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
So what do the ‘clothes’ of the resurrection life look like? I find the description intriguing, these virtues are all about treating others with understanding and love. Maybe this is what will make ‘heaven’ heaven, not that we are perfect (this isn’t the same thing as sinless), but we react with grace and love in response to each other’s mistakes.
Father, you have brought us together and made us your family. Help us to share your unifying love.
