Colossians 3:15-17 (27.05.22)

Colossians 3:15-17 (NIVUK)
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

It’s God’s work to renew us with his resurrection power, but what can we do to be open to this? We can actively seek to expose ourselves to ways of living that are consistent with the resurrection life, and expose ourselves to him. If we fill ourselves with love and God, there will be less space for that which is opposed to them. This passage gives some very practical suggestions for how we can do this in our life together as a church. I wonder what we can do in our daily lives when we’re not with each other, how can we expose ourselves to God at work, at home, at school etc.?

Father, thank you for the promise of being renewed! Help us to be open to your work in all situations.
