Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Philippians 3:7 (30.05.22)

Philippians 3:7 (NIVUK)
7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

Every now and you may experience something that forces you to re-evaluate life. Take the last few years, for example. Time and time again we heard the word ‘unprecedented’, or the phrase ‘once in a lifetime situation’. Many of us were forced to live in different ways and reconsider what was important or unimportant. For some, the enforced changes led them to decide to live differently, moving or changing jobs, or taking up new pastimes. The Apostle Paul had one such moment when he met the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus. Suddenly everything that used to be important seemed unimportant or worthless. Everything he had strived for seemed nothing. Only Christ mattered, and meeting him changed the way he saw everything – including experiencing suffering as we will reflect on later this week.

How has coming to know Jesus changed your outlook?
