Psalm 8:6-8 NIVUK
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
As we finish a week reflecting on the wonder of God as displayed in his creation and the grace he has shown us, it seems right that we end with a call to care for this world. God has placed all nature, flora and fauna, under our feet. We have the power to either abuse it, as we know too well, or to care for it, recognising it as the astonishing gift it is.
As an act of worship today, determine to tread lightly, taking time to be aware of and look after this beautiful world, given to us by our beautiful God. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
