Psalm 12:6 NIVUK
And the words of the Lord are flawless,
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold refined seven times.
We return to the matter of how we use our words and our integrity. The Psalm so far has talked about dishonesty, flattery and boasting. What a contrast to God. His words are flawless, pure, precious. When he promises to protect the poor and needy, God says he will help them. This is no manifesto item serving to look good before being ignored, but is a promise that is reliable and can be trusted. God’s yes is yes, and no no.
Thank you God that you act on behalf of the poor and needy. Help us, like you, to uphold those in need in our words and in our actions.
