Genesis 18:27-28 (NIVUK)
32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”
He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”
33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.
Abraham finishes his ‘haggling’ with God, his prayer. When they’ve finished, he goes home. This reminds me of so many encounters with God in the Bible, people meet with God, but they don’t stay there, they go out to act in the lives that God has given them. It is the same with us. We gather to meet with God on a Sunday, but then we go, we go in his name into our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. We go to act, changed by God, directed by God, as his ambassadors.
Spend some time with God, asking for him to help you serve him in the day ahead, and then go, go in his name, go with his Spirit, and live for him.
