Genesis 1:27 (NIVUK)
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
From the beginning we were made to be like God, to reflect his character and love. Although, as the story of Adam and Eve tells us, this went wrong, and we don’t naturally do so anymore, our design still hasn’t changed – it’s as if our computer coding has become corrupted, we’re made to be like him, but we have a tendency to go awry. We need a reboot!
Father, forgive us for the ways in which we fail to reflect you. Help us to change and become more the people you made us to be.
