1 Corinthians 2:15-16 (NIVUK)
15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,
‘Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?’
But we have the mind of Christ.
When we become a member of God’s Family through the work of Christ, John tells us that we are ‘born again’ or ‘born from above’ – in other words, God’s image is restored in us. Like any birth, there’s the sense that we have everything from the start, but also that we grow and mature over time; we are saved and we are being saved. Part of this journey is revealed here in Corinthians, through being given the Spirit, we have access to Christ’s mind – the patterns of thinking and listening and understanding that were lost, we have access to once more.
Spirit, help us to learn to think, listen and understand God, the world we live in and ourselves as you do.
