Revelation 7:9-10 (NIVUK)
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
Last Sunday I listened as the Kop sang in full throttle, celebrating the final whistle as Liverpool Football Club beat Manchester United 7-0 (there was no way I was going to let the week go by without mentioning this!) It was an almighty sound, I can only imagine what it would have felt like to be in the middle of it, or on the pitch at the receiving end of it. A crowd of thousands celebrating a great victory. If that was stirring, how much more so is this crowd, singing this song, in response to this great victory. The adoring crowd of Palm Sunday was only a foretaste of the jubilation to come when Jesus the Christ’s salvation is unveiled and seen in all it’s glory!!
Go on, I dare you to shout out with them, ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’
