Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

John 20:11-13 (24.04.23)

John 20:11-13 (NIVUK)
11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”

Why are you crying? Were they trying to work out why Mary was feeling the way she was, or were the angels genuinely concerned and interested? I think the latter myself. It seems astonishing to me that they (and by implication God), should be interested in our feelings, why should they care about human beings, we’re so small in comparison. And yet, it doesn’t seem as if God sees it that way.

What are you feeling at the start of this new week? Why don’t you let God know, and know that he cares.
