Revelation 7:9-10
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
‘Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.’
Jesus’ call to love not just God and our own, but all all people including those we might not instinctively count as neighbour and our enemies, mirrors the life to come in God’s kingdom, when people from every nation, tribe and tongue, every sex, sexuality, colour and political outlook will worship him as one family. God has made us with all his creative variety, creating a beautiful patchwork of colour and personality as we worship him as one. Let’s dedicate ourselves to seeing how we can create that future in the hear and now.
Father, Son and Spirit, the perfect three in one, teach us to live in loving unity today, echoing your unity in our lives.
