John 1:14 (NIVUK)
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Yesterday we reflected on how Moses was unable to see God’s glory ‘face to face’, but could only see him from behind after he had ‘walked past’. John tells us that when Jesus was born, he revealed God’s glory to us – in him we are able at last to see God face to face, his glory veiled by his humanity (as Hark the Herald puts it: ‘veiled in flesh the godhead see’).
Thank you for the gift of Jesus, who came revealing your glory to us!
