Revelation 5:13-14 (NIVUK)
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honour and glory and power,
for ever and ever!’
14 The four living creatures said, ‘Amen’, and the elders fell down and worshipped.

One of the themes that runs throughout the Bible is God’s work in reconciling all things to himself (eg. Colossians 1:19-20, 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.) Revelation looks forward to this work being completed, when the whole of life is united in singing God’s praise. In this age of environmental crisis, what a fantastic hope to hold onto and aspire to.

Father, help me to hear the praise of creation, and join in with its song!
