Matthew 12:15 & 13:1-2 (NIVUK)
15 Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill… 1 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2 Such large crowds gathered round him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore.

Another observation that Simon made on Sunday was that there were always crowds looking for and gathering around Jesus, attracted by him, what he was saying and doing, and that maybe as Jesus’ representatives today, we might expect the same thing to happen to us. He also confessed that this wasn’t his experience. It made me wonder if rather than waiting for the crowd to find us, that we should go and find the crowd (an upside-down game of ‘Where’s Wally’?)

Father, we long for the crowds to be interested in our message, help us to become more like Jesus, so that we are attractive as he was, and to find the crowds today.
