Philippians 4:6-7 (MSG)
6-7 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life.

On Sunday Sheila shared some of her story of walking with God. One of the clear emphases of her testimony was the importance in her life of prayer, and seeking God’s will in every part of her life including employment choices and which church movement to be part of. An obvious passage that reflects this is Philippians 4:6-7. I like The Message rendition of this above, the idea of taking our concerns and worries, which can drag us down, and moulding them with prayer into requests and praise. This brings God’s perspectives into ours, and his transformational power, and lifts us up instead.

Make space to think through your day. Bring each activity and task before God in prayer, alongside anything else that is on your mind, as an act of faith and worship.
