2 Chronicles 3:14 (NIVUK)
14 He made the curtain of blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen, with cherubim worked into it.

As yesterday’s notes reminded us, coming into the Presence of God is no trifling thing; he is a mighty God, worthy of our awe and submission. These elaborate curtains across The Most Holy Place remind us of this fact – he is other than us, apart, different, above us. This makes the message of Jesus all the more astounding. Jesus’ death on the Cross was accompanied by the curtain being torn, opening up the way for us to cross into his Presence. What is more, we’re told we can do this confidentially, boldly, without fear. This ease should not cause us to forget who he is, rather it should lead us to marvel in the wonder of our most un-god like God.

Hebrews 10:19-21 (NIVUK) – ’19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body…’ Father, in confidence we come before you now as your children.
