John 6:51 (NIVUK)
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live for ever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.’
Matthew 26:26 (NIVUK)
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, ‘Take and eat; this is my body.’

Naturally, for us as Christians, the Bread of the Presence, laid on the table in the Temple, leads us inevitably to Jesus, the one who said he was the ‘living bread’ and the one who gave his life on the Cross for us, as symbolised in the Lord’s Supper. He came as God’s provision for our needs, he came to bring us into relationship with God, he came as God’s Word for us, and gave everything for us so that we might have everything in him.

Thank you Father for Jesus, the Bread of Life, given for us!
