Sunday was Remembrance Sunday. As well as our own commemoration, it was great that our minister, Ben, was able to represent us at the local Scouting Movement‘s Remembrance event. This was held at Wormley Scout hut where we held our open air service with our friends from Rosedale earlier in the year, and was extremely well attended by all the different sections and their relatives.
1 Peter 4:8, ‘8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins’ (NIVUK)
After the different groups had finished their themed craft activities, they and their relatives came together for a ceremony with poems, a period of silence, and a reflection by Ben on 1 Peter 4:8, ‘8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins’ (NIVUK). He encouraged those present to learn from history and be peace builders not war makers in their lives and communities.
