2 Chronicles 9.3-4
“When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, as well as the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, the cupbearers in their robes and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the Lord, she was overwhelmed.”
Matthew 6.28-29.
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.”
Not only were the temple and palace which King Solomon built spectacular, but also the way even his servants were dressed was magnificent. Yet Jesus said that the natural world, created by God, is even more elaborate and beautiful, and incredibly complex and sophisticated. Each day this week, a different picture above will illustrate this in the beauty and diversity of plants, all from around this area. Today’s photo is the Field Forget-me-not, whose flowers start pink and then turn blue.
Lord, thank-you that everything you made is very good – even me, since you made me in your image. Help me to live in a way that reflects that image as it should be.
