2 Peter 2.7-8
“He rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard).”
We noted on Sunday how 2 Chronicles makes no mention of Solomon’s later failings. The same can be said of Lot: if you read what Genesis says about him you will wonder if Peter in his letter can possibly be talking about the same person! But our weaknesses and failings have been judged on the cross, and now God calls his people holy saints.
Lord Jesus, thank-you for your amazing grace which takes flawed, imperfect people, covers their sin, and makes them fit for your eternal kingdom!
Today’s photo is the familiar Dandelion clock, its seeds beautifully adapted for wind dispersal. “Not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.”
