John 7:19-20 (NIVUK)
19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?’ 20 ‘You are demon-possessed,’ the crowd answered. ‘Who is trying to kill you?’

It is disturbing how often the religious accused those who see things differently from them of being demon-possessed, or wicked, or evil. It is easy an easy trap to fall into when you believe you have the truth. The fact that Jesus was accused of this by those who we would probably see as good people if we met them today, should give us cause to hesitate before we do this, and be humble enough to recognise that although the truth has been revealed to us by God, this doesn’t mean we have grasped it in its entirety, or are the sole possessors of it.

Forgive me Father for those times when I have been judgemental. Spirit, teach me to be humble and help me to discern what is of you and what is not.
