Matthew 7:7-8 (NIVUK)
7 ‘Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Faith grows at the meeting point between our questions and God’s response to them, not certainty or believing the ‘right’ things. This is why suffering or change or ‘stepping out in faith’ can be moments of growth as they expose us to new concepts or needs or questions. Let’s seek to develop and celebrate curiosity and openness; welcome those with doubts, queries and thinking that is different from ours; and find security in our relationship with God rather than complete and closed doctrine.
