Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, [4] not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
Is Paul saying we shouldn’t be ambitious? No. His concern is about selfish ambition that involves us not caring about others or trampling of them to get where we want to go. He’s also encouraging another sort of ambition – being ambitious for others.
Think of someone from the church family and prayerfully ask what you can do to help them thrive.
