Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Friday 21st June

Reading: Psalm 125:1
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
Thought for Reflection:
One of my favourite children’s book is ‘Two Monsters’ in which two monsters living on either side of a mountain hurl rocks and abuse at each other until they demolish the mountain in the process ,see each other for the first time and realise they actually quite like each other. This is just a story, though. In real life, mountains stand firm, majestic, and unchanging. They speak of permanence, ruggedness and the centuries. So too, according to the Psalmist, are those who have faith in God. When we are buffeted by the storms of changing circumstances and emotions, we will discover that the one in whom we have faith holds us firm.
Prayer:
Lord, whatever comes our way today, may our lives be rooted and held firm in and by you.
