Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Monday 8th July

Reading: Psalm 129:5-8
5 May all who hate Zion
    be turned back in shame.
6 May they be like grass on the roof,
    which withers before it can grow;
7 a reaper cannot fill his hands with it,
    nor one who gathers fill his arms.
8 May those who pass by not say to them,
    “The blessing of the Lord be on you;
    we bless you in the name of the Lord.”

Thought for Reflection:
As Christians perhaps we’d be shy of expressing such thoughts; they’re not exactly what we’re supposed to think are they? And yet we all feel like this from time to time. The best thing to do is to share them with God – he knows we’re thinking them after all! That way he can help us deal with them by his Spirit, rather than our trying to pretend they’re not there or take them out on others.

Prayer:
Lord, take the strength of my emotions today and help me to use them constructively for you.
