Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Friday 19th July

Reading: Psalm 132:6-9
6 We heard it in Ephrathah,
    we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
7 “Let us go to his dwelling place,
    let us worship at his footstool, saying,
8 ‘Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place,
    you and the ark of your might.
9 May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;
    may your faithful people sing for joy.’”
Thought for Reflection:
It comes as a surprise to many people but when Gods people have gathered together over the centuries, the overwhelming feature has been joy! If we lose the sense of joy in fellowship and worship it can be a sign that something is wrong. Take a “joy-check” as a spiritual barometer!
Prayer:
Lord, help us to know the joy of fellowship with you and with your
people and keep us excited about you.
