Bible Reading: After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:14-15)
Thought for Reflection: When the Romans won in battle they sent word back home of their victory. This message was called ‘gospel’ or ‘good news’. Time and time again the news that Jesus brought is described in the same way, as good news – God is victorious, he has won our liberation! His kingdom is coming!
Prayer: Lord, help me to greet you as your kingdom comes today in all that I say and do – let your songs be in my mouth and your flag in my hand!
