This week Tim returns to Genesis with a series of reflections on the life of Abraham. If you have time do take a look at the rest of the chapter these readings come from each day – you’ll benefit from that little extra effort!
Bible Reading: Genesis 12:1-4
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.
Thought for Reflection: Thousands of years after he lived, nearly everyone has heard of Abraham but his journey started with extraordinary obedience! If God calls us to do something and we obey him, who can say what the consequences may be!
Prayer: Lord, help me to have Abraham’s faith and to live in obedience to you.
